The Debate

I have to admit that I was anxious about the debate this week.  I almost tuned in to Tiny House Hunters so I didn’t have to watch.  But I did.   I felt like a mother watching her child perform in his or her first school play.  But I was thankfully relieved to see Hillary perform Presidentially.  Nonetheless, it is abundantly clear that Hillary is being held to a much higher standard than Donald.  Why is this?  It’s as if Donald had to merely show up and Hillary had to single-handedly manage the entire substance of every question.   Donald could not generate one substantive answer about nuclear weapons, climate change, racial relations and it goes on and on.  I am simply perplexed as to anyone, no matter how angry he or she is about their lives, jobs and economy, could truly believe that this buffoon could be a responsible President.  When I hear his followers claim that they like him because “he tells it like it is”, I’m wonder what “it” is.  What they like is the entertainment factor.  He says absolutely nothing.  He can’t function now without a teleprompter at his rallies.   And now he is blaming everyone for his poor debate performance while at the same time claiming that all of the polls reflect that he won the debate.  He’s delusional and I didn’t even mention the sniffling. What the heck was that all about?

One more thing:  I cannot believe that any woman could possibly vote for him.  Aren’t you offended by his treatment of women?  The followers will say, “Oh, he’s very good to his female employees.” Interesting.  I guess that gives him the privilege of insulting and demeaning women.  We’ve heard about Miss Universe and Rosie O’Donnell but what about his comments about Carly Fiorina’s face or Heidi Cruz’s appearance.  As I said in my last post, the followers are so mesmerized by right wing blogs and right wing radio (such reliable news sources) they refuse to peel the onion and look at the core of their candidate who has no morals and lacks even a soul let alone any sense of self.

It’s frustrating and as I wait for the next debate, I should be a bit more relaxed.  But like the talking heads all say, we don’t know which Donald Trump will show up (if he shows at all) which brings back my sense of anxiety.  Oh, please.  Make this all be over soon.
