A new mailer arrived yesterday with a comparison list between Hal and Jeremy McPike.  Hal loves to stretch the truth and make unsubstantiated statements.

He did not increase pay for teachers as he had zero impact on any votes on that issue.  He might be in favor of increased pay but he can’t take credit unless he means back in 2006 when he voted for the ordinance that cost Manassas $2 million plus the salary of an employee to make sure that Manassas did not violate the law.

Hal did not secure millions of dollars for widening Route 28 unless he is talking about Route 28 between Centreville and Route 7 which is clearly not in Manassas or Manassas Park and has almost no impact on the commute.

Hal may have served in the Air Force but he did not go to Viet Nam like my classmates did.  He went to grad school instead.

Business owner?  Like Trump, he inherited the business.  He’s President because…..well, that’s what happens in a line of succession.

I would love to know the 1600 jobs he claims to have created as Mayor.  I know that many City employees have been laid off since he has been Mayor.  Is also taking credit for eliminating Parks and Recreation?  Does that count?

It’s important that Hal is challenged on these assertions.  He cannot be viewed as the “heir apparent” in the Virginia Senate.  Plus he’s a Republican.  No way.
