Have Trump and Carson “jumped the shark?”

First let me invite everyone to take a listen to C-SPAN during Morning Journal.  If you were ever wondering who could support the GOP clowns, just listen.  It’s downright breathtaking. I guess we are sort of used to the D.C. beltway crowd and are immunized from the craziness of the rest of the country. So even though Trump and Carson express outrageous opinions that I cannot imagine anyone supporting, I am apparently wrong.  Trump just seems to thrive on this although Carson seems to be faltering at bit.

But when Trump agreed that issuing ID cards to Muslims to identify their religion or closing the mosques was an effective way to manage terror, all bets were off.  I didn’t hear him advocating armbands to be issued to all Muslims, but you know that’s coming.  Just the country we need:  Nazi America.  Blame the Muslims for all of your problems.  Then round them up and do what, Trump?  We know that this will not end well.  Trump is dangerous because he is preying on the most ignorant among us.   This is just nuts but beware, he will be the GOP Presidential candidate.  No doubt.

Trying to keep up with Trump for the most outrageous award, Carson compared the Syrian refugees to dogs.  And there was cheering when he made this statement. Those “good” Christians who have glommed to Carson as the next coming will have some explaining to do if they decide to support the notion that humans should be derogatorily compared to dogs.

There is a book by Phillip Roth, The Plot Against America which is prophetic: With Trump in the Oval Office, we could expect our country to be upside down with prevailing racism and intolerance synchronized with isolationism and ignorance.  Is this what we should be looking forward to?  Help!
