Another day, another Hal mailing

Hal is just bursting with funds from the state Republicans and donors like American Disposal.  In today’s mailing, he is taking credit for the wonders of the Manassas City Schools.  If Hal wants such credit, he obviously neede to check his veracity at the door.

Great Schools rates OHS as a 3 on a 10-scale.  Will Hal take credit for that?  And as far as Baldwin is concerned, Hal and his GOP cronies did NOT want to build the new Baldwin until it looked like the current structure was unsound and too small.  Keep in mind that Baldwin is the elementary school with students from our most diverse population including a population that rounds out the lowest level socio-economically.  They are also most likely to vote Democratic.  So why help them?  This is especially galling as Aveni is promoting vouchers that would be used for religious schools.  What’s wrong with that picture?  That’s a good question for Hal.  Would he also support “school choice” by robbing the public schools to support the wealthy?

And Hal, how could you?  You had zero to do with Weems’ success.  That was all due to the remarkable and amazing principal who is now at Mayfield.  She was simply doing her job and actually was responsible for obtaining school uniforms for the students which are still being worn.  How can you possible take credit for that?  I’m surprised you weren’t on “Ellen” with the principal taking credit for her success.

Now what about “Footsteps to Brilliance?”  First of all, it’s Footsteps2Brilliance which is a computer platform to assist in learning.  I’m sure Hal did not write the grant for the program.  I think you have to credit the school superintendent and school board for that.  Hal is the mayor who is an expert at ribbon cutting and tie breaking.  He cannot be held responsible for anything unless he also wants to take credit for the failures.

I wish we could ask him about his vote on the darn ordinance that cost Manassas $2 million by ignoring legal advice.  This guy should not and cannot be our state Senator.
