Hal Pal almost misses another meeting

Let me start:  Everyday the Virginia GOP sends out daily talking points.  Ever wonder why all of a sudden we have this I66 toll controversy?  Well, GOP leaders and specifically Jackson Miller  and Howell create these directives to the GOP candidates and legislators so that there is a unifying message to amp up the masses.  Unfortunately, this “toll” issue is almost a year old.  I agree that there are a million questions.  The toll plan includes tolls for I66 inside the beltway between I495 and Rosslyn only during rush hour.  This plan will allow those who wish to travel solo or with only one other passenger to use I66 if desired.  To use I66 without a toll, HOV3 will be enforced just like I395.  Why a free market idea to allow those who wish to use the toll road during rush hour as such a horror, I just don’t get.  The tolls will be used for I66 improvements inside the beltway.  What’s especially galling is that the GOP offers zero ideas.  Here’s the Power Point presentation from Virginia DOT:  http://inside.transform66.org/learn_more/asset_upload_file853_80716.pdf

Well, yesterday Corey Stewart had a town hall meeting to lie to the masses about this in order to get votes, the truth be damned.  But where was Hal Pal.  He rushed in at the end to defend his vote on the transportation package claiming that he could not support the “frivolous” bike trails.  Bike trails?  Really. Hal Pal was willing to let commuters languish on 28 and 66 because of his aversion to bike trails.  This is typical Hal Pal.  Zero understanding of the big picture and truly a puppet of the extreme right.  I couldn’t believe it.  Probably getting advice from Jackson Miller or Babs Comstock.

Can’t wait for the next “Town Meeting”.
