Republican Hal Parrish Speaks To Only Republicans

After refusing to sit down with reporters or to stand up at debates, Republican Hal Parrish has come out of seclusion to address only hand-picked Republican supporters. According to his email to supporters below, he’s willing to discuss a “Campaign Status Update” and take a “Supporter Q&A”.

As there are only 6 Days left until the election, here are 5 questions that we would love for a supporter to ask Republican Hal Parrish.

5 Questions for Republican Hal Parrish

1.  Will you release your NRA questionnaire so voters know why the NRA is supporting your campaign with thousands of dollars?

2. While you were cutting millions from the Manassas school budget, you had Manassas taxpayers forgive Mitt Romney’s campaign for a $30,000 debt to the city. What other handouts will you be seeking for the top 1% as you block Medicaid expansion?

3. Does “fighting for transportation dollars” mean missing 34 meetings of the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority – more than any other member – and refusing to take a position on the landmark 2013 transportation funding bill?

4. Since you voted and wholeheartedly advocated for Manassas local law enforcement to check the federal immigration status of detainees, will you be sponsoring a similar measure statewide if elected? What other immigration policies of Donald Trump will you be pushing?

5. Besides being the deciding vote to block women’s access to health services in Manassas, what other protections for women will you be seeking to shut down?

As A Member Of The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, Parrish Has Skipped 34 Meetings. According to meeting minutes of the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA), Parrish has skipped 34 of the NVTA’s meetings. [North Virginia Transportation Authority, Meeting Minutes, accessed 10/8/15]

Parrish Missed More Meetings Of The NVTA Than Any Other Current Member. While serving as a member, Parrish has missed 34 meetings of the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority.  That is more than any other current member. [North Virginia Transportation Authority, Meeting Minutes, accessed 10/8/15]

Parrish Refused To Support The Landmark 2013 Transportation Bill. The Prince William Times reported, “Along with the floated health care compromise, Parrish refused to take a concrete stand on some other issues too.  He wouldn’t say whether he backed the 2013 transportation bill, HB 2313, signed by former Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) that eliminated part of the state sales tax on gasoline but raised the sales tax in Northern Virginia from 5 to 6 percent.  Gasoline is now at its lowest price in Virginia in years.  ‘I’m going to stay away on that one,’ said Parrish.  ‘I know that there are challenges within the bill.’” [Prince William Times, 2/4/15]
